Sirena Twister Air Purifier

Features:
Water Based Air Purifier Buying Guide
  • Aroma and/or Oil Diffuser
  • Special Scents and Deodorizers Available
  • Several Color Options
  • LED Lighting
  • Good Air Purification
  • Very Quiet
  • Ease of Use
  • Easy to Clean!

The first Air Purifier on our compilation of the best machines is made by Sirena. Sirena makes quite a few different household appliances, so they know what they’re doing!

But there’s a lot more to this machine than it’s manufacturer.

Aroma or Oil Diffuser

For starters, this unit serves as an air cleaner and as an oil diffuser. A lot of water-based air cleaners don’t allow you to use them as oil diffusers, so this is a unique bonus that this machine provides.

What does this mean for you? It means that you can have the air in your home or office cleaned and then get the air freshened up with whatever scent you want! It’s a win-win. This machine removes dust and allergens while it also makes your house smell like the Hawai’i (or whatever scent that you would like it to diffuse).

If you’re a fan of essential oils, this machine is also a must for you! You can add a few drops of whatever oil you want. We’ve done this in our own machines more than a few times and we prefer water-based air purifiers over oil diffusers now. We prefer water-based units because they serve as light essential oil diffusers, meaning they don’t put out nearly as much oil as fast as others. Instead of being hit by an overwhelming cloud of lavender, it’s just a subtle hint that is much more enjoyable. Additionally, water-based air purifiers don’t heat up the essential oil, so you don’t have to worry about burning anyone like you do with some oil diffusers.

We might add that this particular water-based air revitalizer has a special extra that we haven’t seen too often. It has its own collection of specialized scents that also serve as deodorizers on their own! You can pick up these scents as you make your purchase, or you can get them here.

Color Choices!

We’ve all bought something on a whim that we’ve regretted later on. For some of us, those regrets are because of our purchase’s colors. That’s not an issue with this machine because you can pick your colors to match your home’s color palette. Not only can you buy different machine colors (black or blue), but you can this machine has a nifty LED that changes between seven colors! That means this machine can add a splash of color to your room while also serving as a nightlight.

Air Purification

This machine is not the absolute best water-based air purifier on the market when it comes to cleaning the air. It’s a great option for the low price point, but it’s not going to give you the cleanest possible air. The best air purifiers will have medical-grade HEPA filters in addition to using water as a filter.

All that being said, this machine will still do wonders for you. You’ll notice the difference in the air when you have this machine running!

Water is a great air cleaner and it does a great job at catching a whole array of allergens, dust, and even smoke from the air. When you utilize your machine as an aroma diffuser the benefits are even more noticeable.

Sound

This machine is quiet, unlike many of the cheap water-based units out there.

We’ve bought a few of these noisy units and can tell you that the constant buzz is more than a little annoying. That’s why we’ve included this quiet unit on our top five list!

Other Info
  • This unit runs on the usual 110 power outlets in our homes.
  • The machine vibrates slightly, so you might want to place it on a small cloth if you’re putting it on a hard surface.
  • Works great to remove smoke, dust, and allergens.
  • This machine only uses water as its filter, so it isn’t as effective as other units with HEPA filters at removing smaller particles. It will still work great to remove smoke and allergens though.
  • The plastic basin can stain if you use certain scents or oils, so keep that in mind before you use anything that isn’t provided by Sirena.
  • This machine can run 24/7, but you’ll have to keep an eye on its water level.
  • The machine is 9 x 8 x 9 inches. (Length x Width x Height)
Cons:
  • You cannot turn the lights off on this unit, which can be a deal-breaker.
  • The scents and deodorizers are not included with this unit and are addons.
  • No specific square footage coverage listed, but the machine’s effects are noticeable in some pretty large rooms.

EcoGecko 75518 Little Squirt Air Cleaner and Revitalizer

Features:
  • Low Cost
  • Aroma and/or Oil Diffuser
  • Color Options (Black or Silver)
  • LED Lighting
  • Good Air Purification
  • Quiet
  • Ease of Use
  • Easy to Clean!

EcoGecko is a personal favorite of ours. We’ve had great luck with what we’ve bought from them in the past. They’re also very loved by their other customers, so that’s great news for all of you! We’ve purchased several of these units, mostly because of how well they work and how cheap they are!

There’s more to this machine than just its being made by one of our favorite air purifier manufacturers though,

Oil and Scent Diffuser

This machine doubles as a light oil and aroma diffuser. It’s a bit smaller than a lot of the other machines out there, and it’s smaller than EcoGecko’s other offerings as well, but it still works great. Thanks to its small stature, however, you will have to refill its water and scents more often. You can purchase the larger option instead here, if you so wish.

This machine comes with a free bottle of their lavender scent, which allows you to test out its oil diffusion properties without having to worry about buying anything extra up front.

LED Lighting

Not every water-based air purifier has an LED light, so we enjoy it when they do. The light on these units is blue and will be on whenever the machine is on. Something nice about this unit is that it doesn’t change color, changing colors can be difficult to have when you’re trying to sleep.

Sound

As with the above air purifier, this unit is very quiet. It will provide just enough white noise that you’ll know it’s on, but not so much that it’ll keep you up at night.

Air Purification

This unit only uses water as its filter, so its cleaning capability is limited. That being said, it still does a great job–especially for its size. We find that larger units do clean the air better, however.

Other Info:
  • This unit can run on your standard 110 power outlet in addition to any USB output device as well!
  • This machine only uses water as its filter, so it isn’t as effective as other units with HEPA filters at removing smaller particles. It will still work great to remove smoke and allergens though.
  • Works great to remove smoke, dust, and allergens.
  • This machine is 4.25 x 4.25 x 5 inches. (Length x Width x Height)
Cons:
  • Because this unit is so small, it can’t cover as much area as the other units on this list. However, you can purchase one of the larger EcoGecko units instead and they will cover a greater area.

U.S. JACLEAN Aroma Globe Air Washer and Room Revitalizer

Features:
  • Can Double as an Oil Diffuser
  • Includes Three Fragrance Options
  • Good Air Purification
  • LED Lights
  • Subtle Noise
  • Ease of Use
  • Easy to Clean

We’ve enjoyed this air purifier since we’ve picked it up. Additionally, the seller, U.S. JACLEAN is a reputable company that creates some great household appliances. This is one of the best units on our top five list.

What else is there to know about this unit?

Oil and Aroma Diffusion

Like the other air revitalizers on our list, this unit doubles as an oil or aroma diffuser in addition to its air purifying and light humidifying. It goes as far as to include three different scents with your purchase, which is something we’ve enjoyed.

When you run out of the scents that come with your machine you can order additional ones from U.S. JACLEAN. You can also buy other scents or essential oils depending on your preference.

LED Lighting

As with our other listings, this unit has LEDs that allow the machine to serve as a night light as it cleans your home’s air. The light cycles between four colors and will be on whenever the machine is. You cannot turn the light off on this machine like you can with others.

Sound

This machine is actually a bit noisier than the other options. If you want a machine that doesn’t make a lot of noise, then this is not the one for you. However, if you want one that will give you a bit of white noise to drown out the other noises that might keep you up at night, then this is the best choice for you.

This isn’t a super loud machine by any respect, but it isn’t as quiet as the other water-based air revitalizers on our list. The company says that the machine operates at 50 decibels which is just a bit louder than the birds you hear chirping in the morning. Most customers do not complain about the noise level.

Other Info:
  • This machine is rated to cover 700 square feet which is very large in comparison to the other water-based air cleaners out there.
  • This machine only uses water as its filter, so it isn’t as effective as other units with HEPA filters at removing smaller particles. It will still work great to remove smoke and allergens though.

  • Quite
  • Ease of Use
  • Easy to Clean
  • Has a Large Base to Keep it From Moving.

Here’s another machine from EcoGecko, this one is a bit bigger than the abovementioned one. As we said previously, EcoGecko is a really good manufacturer of water-based air purifiers, hence why they got two spots on our top five list!

What’s so special about this machine?

Essential Oil and Aroma Diffusion

As with the other machines on our list, this machine works as a diffuser for whatever scent you want. This machine comes with a complimentary bottle of lavender oil, which is one of our favorite scents.

You can put in whatever essential oil you please with this machine and EcoGecko has their own offering of Aroma Oils that you can purchase here.

LED Lights

This unit has our favorite light option out of all the machines on this list.

You can choose just one color out of the seven, have your machine cycle between the seven LED light colors, or you can turn it off completely. This allows you a lot more versatility with this machine. There’s no need worrying about the lights keeping you up with this air purifier!

Sound

This machine is super quiet. It provides just enough white noise that you’ll know that it’s running but it won’t be enough to keep you awake at night. While it isn’t the quietest machine on our list, it’s still a great one.

Air Purification

This machine, like the others, uses water as its sole filter. As we’ve said before, water is a great filter because water is great at grabbing dirty stuff out of the air. The water in your machine will help to reduce odors in your home, capture allergens like dust, dander and pollen, and even cut down on smoke in your home!

Thanks to this air purifier’s larger size, it also is able to service a good amount of indoor air in your home. 600 square feet of coverage is more than enough to keep the air clean in just about every living room out there.

Other Info:
  • This machine has a safety switch that will turn the machine off if you left the top, which is super cool.
  • Works great to remove smoke, dust, and allergens.
  • This machine has a larger base to keep it from moving around like so many other water-based air cleaners.
  • This machine only uses water as its filter, so it isn’t as effective as other units with HEPA filters at removing smaller particles. It will still work great to remove smoke and allergens though.
  • This machine is rated for rooms that are about 600 square feet, but its effects can be noticed in even larger rooms.
  • This machine is 8.75 x 8.75 x 8 inches. (Length x Width x Height)
  • This machine runs off the standard 110 power outlet.

Here are the benefits of this water-based air revitalizer.

Oil and Aroma Diffuser

Like our other water air purifier choices, this machine also allows you to use your machine as an essential oil diffuser or for other scents. This is a great benefit for anyone who wants to freshen up the air in their home while they’re also clearing out dust, smoke, and pesky allergens like dander and pollen.

You’d be surprised how far the scent you add goes with these water-based machines, generally just 2 or three drops of whatever you’re using will do the trick. That being said, you can use more if you so please.

Additional scents are available from the seller, or you can put in other oils and scents. Most air purifiers will be rather forgiving with what you put in them.

Optional LED Lighting

Like several other water air cleaners, this machine has some LEDs that change colors. This can be annoying for those who don’t like the color-changing, but this machine allows you to turn off the lights, which is great. All you have to do is press the button twice (rather than just once) and the light should turn off.

Sound

This unit is quiet, like the others on this list. It shouldn’t keep you up at night.

Air Purification

This machine does a solid job at clearing the air of allergens, smoke, and cooking odors. That being said, its effectiveness is limited since it is only using water as its filter. If you want cleaner air then you will have to purchase an air purifier with a HEPA filter and an activated carbon one as well.

Cons:
