Lots of people could go for a dehumidifier in their home, even more could use an air purifier. But what if you need both? Well, there are machines on the market that can both clean the air and pull out unnecessary humidity. There is a wide assortment of these combination air purifiers on the market, but what are the best ones? This post will cover the top five air purifier dehumidifier combination units that we found that you can pick up on a budget.
What Are Air Purifier Dehumidifier Combination Machines for?
Let’s face it, most people don’t know what air purifiers are and a lot of us aren’t too familiar with dehumidifiers either.
So, let’s start with the basics, what do these air control machines do?
Air purifiers, as the name suggests, purify the air. (Woah, big revelation there. Hahaha) They are able to do this because they pull the air in your home through at least one filter (although there are machines that have several different kinds of filters). When the air is pulled through these filters, microscopic particles and even visible things that you see floating in the air are captured. With all those pollutants filtered out of the air, your air purifier then pushed the clean air out for you to breathe.
To make it a little easier to follow, think of your air purifier as an air conditioning unit, hot air as dirty air, and cold air as the clean air you want. Just like how your air conditioner pulls in the hot air and pushes out crisp, cold air, your air purifier does its magic to give you clean air for the dirtier air that you had.
Meanwhile, air dehumidifiers don’t do much of anything to filter your home’s air to remove dust and allergens. What do they do then? Well, they pull moisture out of your home’s air. This moisture in your home’s air is called humidity and too much of it can be a bad thing. Dehumidifiers work to remove that excess moisture.
However, now the question arises: How do I know if I have too much moisture in my home’s air? Do I really need a dehumidifier? If you’re asking anything like that, then we’ve got an article just for you, read up on if you need a humidifier or dehumidifier here.
A lot of people find that they need to have dehumidifiers in their basements, believe it or not. But, if you think about it, it sort of makes sense that your basement could be such a damp and humid place. If you would like to read up on if you need a dehumidifier for your basement, then we’ve got an article for you.
With all that background info out of the way, here are the top five air purifier/air dehumidifier combination units that we’ve found on the market!
Top Five Air Purifier Dehumidifier Combination Units on the Market Today
Tenergy Sorbi 1000ml Air Dehumidifier w/Air Purifying Function
Here’s our current number one pick for these air purifier dehumidifier combo machines (that are still affordable).
For those of you who don’t want to read a whole lot more, here are the bullet points on what’s cool about this machine.
- High-Quality HEPA Filter
- Super Effective Humidity Reduction
- Super Quiet
- Rated for Rooms 200 Square Feet and Smaller
- Auto Shut Off (Turns Off When Tank is Full)
- Optional 2-Year Warranty (If you Register your Unit with Tenergy Life)
First and foremost, here are the main highlights for this air purifier/dehumidifier.
For starters, this unit has a high-quality HEPA filter. Quality HEPA filters are an absolute must for anyone who wants to have a good air purifier. HEPA filters sift out microscopic particles as small as .3 micros, which is several times smaller than a human hair!
Next up the dehumidifying portion of this machine. For starters, this unit is a very effective dehumidifier. Due to a bunch of science-y stuff that I won’t bore you with, this machine is at the top of our list for its humidity-removing prowess.
This dehumidifier and air cleaner is rated for rooms up to 200 square feet, so it would be a great fit for most bedrooms and a lot of living rooms. In addition to this great size, it’s also super quiet, which is great. There are a lot of air quality controlling machines out there that aren’t quiet at all, so finding a quiet one is usually preferred.
Finally, this dehumidifier and air purifier has a removable 1-liter tank. If it’s working at its maximum capacity you’ll have to empty it once every day-ish, but odds are that you won’t have to do it quite that often. What’s more likely is that you’ll have to check on it every week, but you’ll have to find out for yourself just how often you’ll need to do this as every home is different. You won’t have to worry about this unit overflowing, however, because it has an automatic shut off for when it’s full. It has an indicator for when it’s full though, so you’ll know when it’s ready to be emptied.
Something great about this Tenergy dehumidifier and air cleaner unit is that is also has a “Mini” size! This smaller size is designed to take care of rooms that are up to 100 square feet, which makes it a great option for people who have smaller bedrooms and offices.
Hysure Home Dehumidifier with Air Purifying Function
Once again, I’m making this easy for you light readers, here are the bullet points.
- High-Quality HEPA Filter
- Great Humidity Reduction
- Rated for About 200 Square Feet and Smaller
- Auto Shut Off
- 30 Day Money Back Guaranty, 2 Year Customer Service
This air purifier comes in just after the Tenergy air cleaner and dehumidifier for one minor reason, it doesn’t have the same warranty. (That being said, you can purchase a four year one for about the same price as a pizza, so it’s a very close second!)
Besides the warranty, this air purifier is basically the same across the board as the above Tenergy one. It’s got the same True HEPA filter, is just as effective at removing moisture from the air, and it is quiet. I even has the same automatic shut-off.
To be entirely honest, I’m pretty sure these are the same exact machines, just with different branding. If you look at the pictures of them, you’ll see why! If you’re interested in checking out this one, then hit our button below.
Air Purifiers for Home and Dehumidifier All in One
Alright, would you believe me if I told you that there is another air purifier that’s exactly the same as the Tenergy and Hysure ones? Don’t believe me? Here it is anyways.
Yeah, you’re probably thinking that the marketing teams got excited and decided to add flying leaves to this one to make it look different. Problem it, we can all see that it’s the same exact thing.
I’m going to forgo the bullet points for this one; it’s the same machine.
The difference for this unit is that you have two warranty options, a three year and a four year one. There’s nothing besides that that sets this unit apart from the others. As we’ve said before, the dehumidifier and air purifier combo market is very limited. There aren’t a lot of machines and the fact that the top three are all the same exact unit attests to that.
Afloia HEPA Air Purifier Dehumidifier in One
Yep, we’ve finally stumbled across a new design for one of these machines! (Trust me, I’m just as relieved as you are right now!)
Here’re the bullets:
- High-Quality HEPA Filter
- Great Humidity Reduction
- Super Quiet
- Rated for Rooms 215 Square Feet and Smaller
- Auto Shut Off
- 2 Year Warranty Plus Optional Warranties. (3 and 4 Year)
As with the first three options, this air purifier and dehumidifier has a great HEPA filter, is super effective at removing moisture out of humid rooms, and is quiet. It also has an auto shut-off. This machine is more or less the same as the above three, just it’s from a different company and has a unique design. It would have been further up on our top five list if it had more reviews, but it doesn’t at the time of our writing, and that’s a turn off for a lot of people.
I personally don’t worry as much about reviews since I know my way around air purifiers and whatnot–I know what to look for. Since I know what to look for, I can confidently recommend this unit still. If you decide to purchase this unit, please be sure to leave it some reviews so we can rate it higher in the future!
Midea MAD20C1ZWS Dehumidifier
Ok, before we go into this unit, let me warn you–I’m cheating here.
This dehumidifier is only a dehumidifier. It’s not a combination unit. That being said, it does have a filter, hence why I’m letting it slide. I also ran out of dehumidifier air cleaner combination units that were actually worthwhile, so I thought I’d show you something that was still helpful.
Here are the bullet points for this unit:
- Alright Air Filtration (Nowhere near as good as a HEPA filter)
- Great at Removing Humidity
- Quiet (Not as Quiet as the Above Four)
- One Year Warranty Plus Optional Warranties (3 and 4 Year)
As I previously said, this air dehumidifier is not an air purifier. It has a reusable filter, but that filter is not a HEPA filter.
However, this unit is amazing at removing moisture from your home’s air, mostly because that’s its sole purpose. It’s also rated for areas as large as 1,500 square feet, which is a whole lot larger of an area than the above options. But, once again, it is not an air purifier.
This dehumidifier has a big tank for the water that it pulls out of the air and you can even use a small hose to funnel the water out elsewhere if you don’t want to empty the bucket.
Yes, I know I’m pushing it by adding this unit to my top five, but there honestly weren’t any other air dehumidifier air purifier combo units that I could recommend. But if this unit sounds interesting to you, you can pick it up at the below link.
Oh, I might add that there are several different sizes for this unit as well. You can look between all of them by hitting the above button as well.
Top Five Dehumidifier Air Cleaner Rundown
While there are a few more dehumidifier/air purifier combo units on the market today than there were when I first looked into them in my post What Are Air Purifiers with Dehumidifiers, there still aren’t a whole lot of them out there. To be entirely honest, I’ve considered designing a few of my own just to fill the void in the marketplace. These units can be lifesavers to people who need to get an air purifier and a dehumidifier, so it’s unfortunate that there aren’t more of these on the market.
If you’re still wondering what uses you might have for a dehumidifier, then here’s a quick rundown on how these machines might be able to help you. Conversely, if you’re not sure if you need a humidifier or a dehumidifier, then we’ve got an article for that as well!
Got a smelly bathroom that always feels damp? These machines can help. Got a cat whose litterbox always smells? An air purifier dehumidifier combo unit could help. (Alternatively, you could check out our post on the best air purifiers for pet owners.) Live somewhere humid and have some unwanted dust, odors, or allergens? You guessed it, air dehumidifier/purifier combo units could help you.
Believe it or not, air dehumidifiers can even help with pest control! People who suffer from seemingly endless invasions of bugs might be seeing so many of these many-legged invaders because of high humidity in their homes! Bugs like moisture, so reducing the amount of moisture in your home could really help you.
And finally, houses with too much humidity can even bother people with asthma! Whether you’re an asthma sufferer yourself, if you have a baby with asthma, or if you are or know a senior with trouble breathing, then one of these units could help. Air purifiers help to capture the particles that can cause asthma flare-ups and the dehumidifiers work to further cleanse the air of irritants.
These machines can be one of the most useful appliances that you can buy, if you need it. While the market remains super limited, I’ll just have to keep recommending the same few machines. Perhaps one of you could help me out and invent another one of these machines and I could check that one out at some point! 🙂
Frequently Asked Questions About Air Purifier Dehumidifier Combo Units

Unfortunately everyone’s home has such a different amount of humidity and temperatures that we can’t give you any exact numbers.
